In the Limelight: The Foundation of Theatre in Regina
Regina has a rich history of theatre. For more than 100 years the city has been home to both amateur and professional theatre companies. These companies have played a key role in education, both formal and informal, as well as fostering a strong sense of community.
Government House has helped set the stage for these companies’ successes. From providing rehearsal and performance spaces as Saskatchewan House to Lieutenant Governor’s offering the support of Honorary Patronage, the histories of theatre in Regina and Government House are connected.
Throughout this exhibit, learn more about Regina Little Theatre, Globe Theatre Company, and the Trial of Louis Riel, their connections to Government House and their broader impact on the community here in the Queen City and across the province of Saskatchewan.
