On-site Programs

Welcome back!

Government House is excited to, once again, offer indoor and outdoor tours of this beautiful National Historic Site.  Learn about the history, heritage and ecology of Government House and the Edwardian Gardens.

Guided indoor tours will begin hourly at the top of the hour during our regular business hours. We recommend all tours book a time using the form and options below.

The Government of Saskatchewan has stated that it is safe to remove your mask and masks are no longer mandated. Government House does welcome masks and will continue to regularly wipe and clean surfaces. Individuals are reminded to follow proper hand hygiene and coughing/sneezing etiquette. Individuals can also choose to take personal steps to practice extra COVID related measures.

Government House offers a wide variety of educational programming for all ages. Each program is designed to engage students with an array of activities to help them learn the history of Government House and Saskatchewan.

On-site Programs

A Visitor Experience Host will tour your group around the Amédée Forget Museum. Also includes time in the Once Upon a Time Room and craft.

A Visitor Experience Host will tour your group around the Amédée Forget Museum with optional activities available as an add-on.

This option allows students to take a tour with a Visitor Experience Host in the persona of a staff member, resident or visitor at Government House in 1905. Students will “step back in time” and enjoy a tour from a maid, butler, or perhaps one of the Forgets themselves!

Seasonal Programs

Using our GPS devices, students will learn about Government House and Saskatchewan history by following their GPS to the clues around the Edwardian Gardens!

This program is based on the book “Ghosts in the Garden” by Judith Silverthorne. Throughout the house, find clues left behind by one of the ghosts of Government House. Which of the ghosts is leaving you clues and what is he looking for?

Students will use the information learnt on a tour and panels in the museum to answer questions about Government House. Pick from a variety of scavenger hunts to have your students use the information learnt on a tour and the panels in the museum to answer questions. General Scavenger Hunts are available year round, Easter Scavenger Hunts are available in March/April and Halloween Scavenger Hunts are available in October.
