“The history buff that I am, I love the idea that the Victorians were creative and ingenious enough to design an attractive, mirrored stand whose dual purpose was to reflect whether or not a woman’s petticoat was showing beneath her skirt.  Considering how today, most young people wear low rise jeans, and are concerned about their midriff being too exposed, it is fun to explore and dichotomize today’s values with those of a bygone age.”
