This National Historic Site began its story in 1891. Built as the home and office of the Lieutenant Governor of the North-West Territories. Nearly two thirds of the country was governed from here until the province of Saskatchewan was formed in 1905.
From 1905 to 1945 the building remained the working office and house of the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.
