Second Guest Room

Guests that stayed in this room were likely not deemed to be the most important in the house. This status is determined by the location of the room, next to the servants’ quarters, and the simpler design on the wallpaper and the bed frame.

However, Victorians also indicated the importance of a guest by the size of the wallpaper border, so guests staying in this room still held some importance.

During the time that the Forgets lived in this house, there was a bathroom located left of the fireplace. It contained a bathtub recessed in the floor. It was not restored because the cost was prohibitive.

The Italian tiles on the fireplace and the Chinese cabinet with embassy gold doors and pearl inlay in the corner are both original to this room.
