This room is the Vice Regal couple's sanctuary. There are three buttons on the wall that called for the servants: one for the kitchen, one for the butler and one for the chambermaid. The Forgets would often have tea and light meals in their room when there were no events scheduled.
The copper bed warmer located by the fireplace helped to warm up the sheets and blankets on cold nights. It is original to this room.
Master Bathroom
During the construction of the ballroom and the conservatory renovation in 1928, the master bathroom moved here. Replacing a huge window on the south wall created the doorway. Because this bathroom came later it has a more modern decor than the primary one. The sink faucet is plated with 10-carat gold, a gift from royalty that had visited, and is original to this room.
