Morning Room

The Morning room is given this name for two reasons. The obvious reason is that it faces east where the sun rises. The second, it is used by guests staying in the first and second guest bedrooms to have breakfast in the morning.

Guests use the space to gather before getting called down to dinner. They may also use the room for reading or writing correspondence during quiet times. The two large windows have hinges allowing guests to walk onto the portico roof. While it was not stylish to have tanned skin, guests would only stay outside long enough to get some fresh air and take in the beautiful view of the western prairies. During the late teens and 1920s, there was even a covered veranda to lounge under.
